Among the nation’s largest international airports, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data shows Dulles International Airport had the second shortest average wait time in January for arriving international passengers. CBP processed over 230,000 passengers in January at Dulles with an average wait time of 12 minutes.
This achievement is due to the work of the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) – whose officers manage the arrival process for all international travelers – and the Global Entry program, which speeds trusted travelers through the process. Dulles airport management working closely with CBP to improve the passenger experience, has recently installed Dulles Passport Express self-service kiosks – which help streamline the arrivals process at the airport for a large number of passengers. Airport Ambassadors are present to assist arriving passengers as they use the Dulles Passport Express kiosks and help them move efficiently through the process.
The airport continues to work with CBP, the airlines and other partners – as well as investigating new technology and internal improvements – in order to further reduce wait times for all its customers.
