Begin your journey on a high note by settling into what is often called the “jewel” of San Diego. Next stop is an essential visit to San Diego’s Mission Bay district, where there are numerous great beaches to see. Among them, Pacific Beach and Mission Beach, connected by a lengthy expanse of sand, stand out. Surrounded by grassy areas, playgrounds, and adjacent to Belmont Park, there are always spots to leisurely picnic between dips in the water.
 

More prominent beaches, Coronado and Ocean Beach await, offering contrasting but equally enchanting experiences. For the quintessential Hollywood experience, head to Coronado Beach, home to the iconic Hotel del Coronado and famously showcased in Marilyn Monroe’s film Some Like it Hot. Its pristine and long stretches of sand, which are commonly referred to as ‘sparkly,’ make for the perfect romantic getaway or family spot, where beachgoers can swim, sunbathe, or beach ball with ease. On the other hand, check out Ocean Beach, which is known for its laid-back bohemian vibe and rich history.
