Dulles International hosted 23 influencers for a day to experience first-class travel at the airport and to introduce what’s coming in 2018.
Dulles International Airport joined forces with United Airlines and Marketplace Development December 5, to host Passport to #Dulles2018, an event that introduced online influencers to what’s coming to the airport in 2018.
The proud pack of social media mavens and digital rock stars began the day by taking passport photos and exploring what’s new and coming to Dulles International. A few of the new things mentioned on the way were online booking and curbside valet. Café Americana, Capitol Grounds Coffee, District Chop House, Bracket Room and Burgundy and Gold Club provided a food tasting, including a delicious mock-tail that was served called The Aviation.
After snacking on tasty treats from the restaurants, they boarded an updated Dulles Mobile Lounge for a private airfield tour and airline business “What’s Coming to Dulles” conversation with Scott Cooper, airline business development director for the Airport. He presented information about the new non-stop to Edinburgh, Scotland coming in 2018 and other popular destinations. He also answered questions from the group as they took a ride around the airfield.
Guests were then taken to United’s Global First Lounge to mix and mingle with their staff that manage customer service and operations at the Airport. It was a great opportunity to meet people behind the scenes that make your travel experience flow easily.
From champagne to delicious sweets, United rolled out the red carpet. They even passed out swag bags that held a commemorative 747 tin filled with travel essentials. Everyone then boarded the Boeing 787 for a tour that was led by United's assistant chief pilot. The plane features business / first seats with Saks Fifth Avenue luxury bedding, including direct-aisle-access seats that recline flat and sleeping spaces that are up to six and a half feet long.
After they toured the luxury in-flight experience, guests received another complimentary swag bag. This one included Dulles branded wireless headphones, water bottles and notebooks. One lucky woman won a grand prize drawing for a Movado desk clock. The event was a day to remember.
